L'urgenza di una Rai sul modello Boris

E' giusto rassegnarsi all'idea che la più grande azienda culturale debba essere governata più a colpi di fake news che di innovazione? Non solo nomine. Perché il futuro della tv passa dalla scelta tra due modelli: Marcello Foa o René Ferretti

Il punto in fondo è scegliere tra due modelli: Marcello Foa o René Ferretti? La prossima settimana, probabilmente già martedì, il consiglio di amministrazione della Rai ufficializzerà i nomi dei nuovi direttori dei telegiornali e salvo sorprese ancora possibili la triangolazione tra il gruppo dirigente della Rai, i vertici del Movimento 5 stelle e quelli della Lega dovrebbe portare a un equilibrio che allo stato attuale prevede al Tg1 l'ex corrispondente della Rai a Bruxelles Giuseppina Paterniti, al Tg2 l'attuale vicedirettore del Tg1 Gennaro Sangiuliano e al Tg3 la conferma dell'attuale direttore Luca Mazzà, gradito sia al Pd sia a Salvini, e a Rai News 24 di una delle attuali conduttrici, Iman Sabbah. Fino a oggi, ogni discussione sulla Rai è stata monopolizzata dal totonomi relativo ai tiggì e ai direttori di rete, le cui nomine potrebbero essere contestuali a quelle dei telegiornali - e anche qui l'unica conferma dovrebbe essere per l'attuale direttore di Rai 3, Stefano Coletta. Ma una volta archiviata la pratica delle nomine, che ci potrebbe aiutare a capire anche quanto i rapporti di forza tra Salvini e Di Maio stiano cambiando a favore del primo e a sfavore del secondo, ciò che sarà interessante seguire con attenzione è una partita del tutto diversa che riguarda la sfida delle sfide della Rai a trazione sovranista: verso che direzione andrà il cambiamento populista? Apparentemente, gli equilibri presenti in Rai non sono così diversi rispetto a quelli presenti nel governo e il fatto che ad avere in mano le redini del gioco non sia un generatore automatico di fake news come Marcello Foa ma un manager trasversalmente stimato come Fabrizio Salini porterebbe a pensare che in Rai Salvini e Di Maio siano mossi persino da buone intenzioni. Il problema, una volta risolta la pratica delle nomine, è capire se il mandato offerto dai due vicepremier a Fabrizio Salini sarà un mandato alla Tria, finalizzato cioè a rendere il più possibile presentabile e a portare dunque verità alternative in Rai, o sarà un mandato che permetterà di fare l'unica cosa che oggi servirebbe alla Rai: lasciare a Foa il monopolio dei tweet, delle celebrazioni dei rastrellamenti, delle denunce delle cene sataniche di Hillary Clinton a basa di mestruo, sperma e latte di donna, e provare a importare in Rai l'unico modello possibile di televisione che le permetterebbe di fare quello che il governo del cambiamento ha mostrato di non saper fare: ragionare non per smantellare il passato ma per programmare il futuro. Per farlo la soluzione è soltanto una: provare a portare in Rai il modello Boris. Boris, per gli sventurati che non hanno mai avuto la possibilità di vederlo, è una formidabile e comica serie tv italiana prodotta tra il e il da Wilder per Fox, costruita per portare in scena tutto quello che succede dietro le quinte di un set televisivo italiano. La forza di Boris non è stata solo quella di lanciare o di valorizzare diversi attori che trovate oggi molte produzioni italiane (da Caterina Guzzanti a Pietro Sermonti, passando per Valerio Aprea, Massimo De Lorenzo, Andrea Sartoretti, Alessandro Tiberi e Francesco Pannofino) ma è stata quella di essere una delle prime serie tv italiane concepite per conquistare una platea completamente diversa rispetto a quella tradizionale delle tv, dando fiducia all'intelligenza del pubblico con facce nuove, comicità moderna, sceneggiature da leccarsi i baffi. Prima ancora del mondo dell'informazione, sarà il mondo delle fiction, oggi guidato in Rai dal direttore Tinni Andreatta, che verrà trasformato nel terreno del cambiamento sovranista, e quando Di Maio e Salvini metteranno le mani sulla produzione delle fiction della più importante azienda culturale italiana dovranno scegliere se usare anche in Rai lo stesso modello utilizzato finora per guidare il paese: occuparsi non tanto di come costruire un futuro ma prima di tutto di come archiviare il passato. Una Rai concentrata, come è purtropppo oggi l'Italia, a non occuparsi di futuro, e a occuparsi solo della cancellazione del passato, è una Rai che magari potrà divertirsi a sostituire ogni contenuto sulla diversità di genere o sull'integrazione dei migranti con nuove appassionanti puntate su Federico Barbarossa o importanti documentari sulla bellezza della democrazia russa ma è una Rai che si dimenticherà che il suo obiettivo prioritario oggi dovrebbe essere quello di fare concorrenza più alle offerte di Netflix, di Amazon e di YouTube che alla Rai del Pd. In una delle ultime puntate della terza stagione di Boris, il regista René Ferretti prima di portare in Rai una sua fiction su Machiavelli vede in sogno il cda dell'azienda bocciargli così il suo progetto: “In Rai non sappiamo se affrontare lo spinosissimo problema delle guerre puniche, si figuri se possiamo riaprire il capitolo Machiavelli così di punto in bianco”. Scegliere tra il modello Marcello Foa e il modello René Ferretti in fondo significa questo: decidere se la più grande azienda culturale italiana merita di essere governata a colpi di fake news o a colpi di innovazione. Se il modello scelto per la Rai sarà quello truce scelto da Salvini e Di Maio per guidare il paese, la comicità sul modello Boris non sarà quella prodotta dalla tv di stato ma sarà quella prodotta dai consigli dei ministri di Palazzo Chigi.

Is it fair to resign ourselves to the idea that the biggest cultural company should be governed more by fake news than by innovation? Not just nominations. Because the future of the TV goes from the choice between two models: Marcello Foa or René Ferretti

The point at the bottom is to choose between two models: Marcello Foa or René Ferretti? The next week, probably already on Tuesday, the board of directors of Rai will formalize the names of the new directors of the news programs and except for surprises still possible the triangulation between the Rai management team, the leaders of the Movimento 5 stelle and those of the Lega should lead to a balance that at present provides for Tg1 the former Rai correspondent in Bruxelles Giuseppina Paterniti, for Tg2 the current deputy director of Tg1 Gennaro Sangiuliano and for Tg3 the confirmation of the current director Luca Mazzà, appreciated both by Pd and by Salvini, and for Rai News 24 of one of the current presenters, Iman Sabbah. Until today, every discussion about Rai has been monopolized by the predicted names of the news of and the network managers, whose designations could be contextual to those ones of the newscasts - and even here the only confirmation should be for the current director of Rai 3, Stefano Coletta. But once the practice of the designations has been closed, which could help us to understand how much the relationship of force between Salvini and Di Maio is changing in favor of the former and against the latter, what will be interesting to follow carefully is a completely different game which deals with the challenge of the challenges of the sovereign-led Rai: towards what direction will populist change go? Apparently, the balances present in Rai are not so different from those in the government and the fact that having the reins of the game in hand is not an automatic fake news generator as Marcello Foa but a manager transversely estimated as Fabrizio Salini would lead one to think that in Rai Salvini and Di Maio are moved even with good intentions. The problem, once the practice of the designations has been resolved, is to understand whether the mandate offered by the two vice-presidents to Fabrizio Salini will be a mandate as the one of Tria, aimed at making it as presentable as possible and therefore bringing alternative truths in Rai, or it will be a mandate that will allow to do the only thing that today would be useful for Rai: to leave to Foa the monopoly of the tweets, of the celebrations of the rakings, of the denunciations of the satanic dinners of Hillary Clinton based on menstruation, semen and milk of woman, and try to import in Rai the only possible model of television that would allow it to make what the government of change has shown that it can not do: to reason not to dismantle the past but to plan the future. To do this, the solution is only one: try to bring the Boris model to Rai. Boris, for the unfortunates who never had the chance to watch it, is a formidable and comic Italian TV series produced between and by Wilder for Fox, built to bring on stage everything that happens behind the scenes of an Italian television set. The strength of Boris has not been just the one to launch or to valorize different actors that you find today in many Italian productions (from Caterina Guzzanti to Pietro Sermonti, passing through Valerio Aprea, Massimo De Lorenzo, Andrea Sartoretti, Alessandro Tiberi and Francesco Pannofino) but it has been that of being one of the first Italian TV series conceived to conquer a completely different audience compared to the traditional TV one, giving confidence to the intelligence of the public with new faces, modern comedy, yummy screenplays. Even before the world of the information, it will be the world of dramas, today led in Rai by the director Tinni Andreatta, that will be transformed into the terrain of the sovereign change, and when Di Maio and Salvini will put their hands on the production of the dramas of the most important Italian cultural company will have to choose whether to use in Rai the same model used so far to govern the country: to deal not so much with how to build a future but first of all about how to store the past. A concentrated Rai, as unfortunately Italy is today, not to deal with the future, and to deal only with the cancellation of the past, is a Rai that maybe will have fun to replace any content on genres diversity or the integration of the migrants with new fascinating episodes about Federico Barbarossa or important documentaries about the beauty of the Russian democracy but it's a Rai that will forget that its priority objective today should be to compete more with the offers of Netflix, Amazon and YouTube than with the Rai of the Pd. In one of the last episodes of the third season of Boris, the director René Ferretti before bringing in Rai one of his drama about Machiavelli sees in the dream the board of directors to reject him so his project: “In Rai we don't know whether to face the very thorny problem of the Punic wars, imagine if we can reopen the Machiavelli chapter so out of the blue”. Choose between the model Marcello Foa and the model René Ferretti basically it means this: to decide if the greatest Italian cultural company deserves to be ruled by fake news or by shots of innovation. If the model chosen for Rai will be the threatening one chosen by Salvini and Di Maio to lead the country, the comedy on the Boris model will not be the one produced by Rai but will be the one produced by the councils of ministers of Palazzo Chigi.
