My rating: ★★★★★ 5 out of 5

Avete capito bene.

Come ci è finito? Perché ci è finito? Coincidenze?

Stanno in bolletta sparata. Continuate a chiedere a Itala.

Come farla tornare agli antichi fasti?

Come?

Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart): all about the drama of Boris!

· Sara Boero

My rating: ★★★★★ 5 out of 5

You have understood correctly. That which follows is not an article on the magnificent TV series Boris. It's precisely an article about Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart), the trash drama that engages the energies of the ramshackle troupe for three seasons. I have rebuilt for you, as passionate about the series, the exciting plot that unfolds between the mysterious walls of Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid).

Fasten your seatbelts and put on the ring of the Count: it will be something long, nonsense and painful. Seriously, why are you here? Why am I here to write it? Oh, yeah. Because Boris is a cool thing able to unleash our most unhealthy fanaticism.

Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart), Season 1

Well, the premise is that around Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid) three families rotate. One of rich ones, good. One of rich ones, assholes. One of poor ones, good. The protagonist of Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart) is the Doctor Giulia (team rich-good ones, played by that bitch of Corinna Negri, interpreted in hers turn by the very good Carolina Crescentini). Doctor Giulia has inherited the clinic of Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid) by the Count (aka Mariano Giusti, aka Corrado Guzzanti) but the Count (still alive, we'll find out to be bad. But perhaps good. But basically bad: team rich-assholes ones) has somehow deceived her, subtracting her half of the share package (whatever it is: if you are in doubt ask Itala). Besides Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid), Giulia receives the never too celebrated Ring of the Count, that will play a fundamental role in the plot of Occhi del Cuore (Eyes of the Heart). Except that no one has yet figured out what: whether it's a MacGuffin?

The series starts with the Doctor Giulia hospitalized in clinic, who discovers to have ahead a few months of life because of an unspecified disease. Doctor Giorgio (the inimitable Stanis La Rochelle, Pietro Sermonti for friends) deceives her with an heartbreaking speech about to start living again, and between the two there's an immediate chemistry made of astonished looks. The ring of the Count for Giulia is a big problem: that object makes her the blackmail's victim of the evil Doctor Randelli, and Giulia proposes herself to go to talk about it with the Count. But Giorgio stops her in time: apparently Nonno Alberto (Grandfather Alberto) (Giulia's grandfather, but also the passers call him Nonno (Grandfather)) has another solution. Nonno (Grandfather) offers to discuss the matter personally with the Doctor Randelli because, well yes, Nonno Alberto (Grandfather Alberto) has the ring of the Count right in pocket. How did it get there? Why did it get there? Coincidences? I don't think so.

In the meantime it develops the exciting subplot of the family of Giorgio: Giorgio has a sister, a mother named Marina and an evil twin named Eric. They are desperately out of money. Giorgio tries to convince his mother to talk to the Count to ask him for a loan but she doesn't want to do it: to reveal the reason for this reluctance will be precisely Eric, the evil twin. That he was not so evil, basically. He has become evil because the Count raped both the mother and the sister. But now he's very evil: imagine that he even tries to pretend to be Giorgio to retrieve the share package. Whatever it is. Keep on asking to Itala.

Suddenly, however, these murky intrigues become clear to our protagonists (and automatically they are even for us. Right?). Every doubt is dissolved during the party for the reconquest of the share package: the role of the ring for Giulia and Giorgio is no longer a mystery, and of course behind everything there is the Count. But we don't have time to enjoy this sudden and satisfying comprehension that in Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid) is unleashed the drama: two separatist lay terrorists of the Burmini blow themselves up to kill the evil dictator Isaia Panduri, admitted to the clinic under false pretences of the Doctor Ferrari. Doctor Giorgio saves himself miraculously, leaving the room to answer a phone call. He sees the clinical explode and take a courageous decision: he will go to Greece. The end of the season leaves us rather with the baited breath regarding the fate of the Doctor Giulia, who threw herself out of the clinic to save a newborn. Will she be successful?

PS: Nonno Alberto (Grandfather Alberto) has left with dignity: he hanged himself in prison. For the shame.

Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart), Season 2

Giulia's illness gets worse and she and Giorgio leave to Africa to go looking for Sofia, Giulia's cousin, and to ask her to work in Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid). Sofia is a missionary and is very loved by the tribe. Reluctantly she accepts the burden of the transfer while Giulia, victim of a mysterious call, disappears into the Ngube river (sigh).

Giorgio, apparently unconcerned of end of the colleague, comes back to Italy with Sofia because he has a bad presentiment about the Count: in fact someone has just shot him, casually. He's operated on urgently and survives but he's victim of an amnesia. He doesn't remember even more if he was good or bad, in the end. Obviously it's a burning case and the investigations are assigned to the busty Police commissioner Sandra Gusberti, under the false and succint pretences as nurse. Immediately unmasked by Doctor Giorgio. Which, however, seems to have in his heart only the Doctor Giulia (abandoned accidentally, let's remember it, in the Ngube river): Sofia finds out him while watching a photo of her cousin and kicks up a real fuss because she felt in love with Giorgio in record time and she's jealous.

The insistent plot however leaves no space for the sentimental brawls of the protagonists: the notary (Nando Martellone, the comic right-hand man) suddenly suffered a stroke and before entering the coma reveals to Giorgio that the ring of the Count is kept in a safe deposit box at Geneva and that to hold the famous half of the share package (Itala...?) is an African woman named Zazù. Sandra Gusberti makes a blunder and arrests the Doctor Giorgio for the attempted murder of the Count, with a plot twist that leaves even us astonished (F4).

Doctor Giorgio escapes from prison, determined to prove his innocence, and rushes to Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid) in search of the documents that can exonerate him. But Sofia, surprising him in the studio, tells him that there's the need of him in the operating room or the lawyer Rossi risks to die. Giorgio can not stand back and runs to operate the patient under the false pretences of the Doctor Zingler. The clever camouflage is not enough to save him from the hunting of Sandra Gusberti, that arrests him and then kiss him, before the desperate eyes of the very jealous Sofia.

Back in possession of the ring, Giorgio decides to go to talk with the Count but he gets nowhere: that one doesn't even remember to have embezzled half of the share package. Sofia and Sandra Gusberti in the meantime have an intense love argument just about Giorgio: Sofia discredits the Police commissioner, referring to her to have discovered from the Magistrate Anna Pardieri that Gusberti is married (Whore!). Giorgio meanwhile is returned to prison, and he has a long conversation with Luca, the sodomized from Bergamo. The Magistrate Pardieri later interrogates and beats Luca to collect evidences of the guilt of Giorgio.

Gusberti deals with solving the case: she knows who is the guilty of the attempted murder of the Count (has been stocazzo (this shit)!) and communicates it to Giorgio. The doctor comes in the studio of the Magistrate Pardieri under the false pretences of his evil twin Eric and thus manages to confirm the suspicion that the killer... is just Pardieri! Being powerless, the woman pulls out a gun and she and Gusberti fire simultaneously, hurting each other. In that moment Sofia enters, who is pregnant by Giorgio (but when ever have those two fucked?): in front of that wave of violence, the girl decides that she prefers to give birth to hers child in a healthy place like Africa and leaves, closing in the drama the second season of Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart).

Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart) (before the apocryphal derive of Medical Dimension), Season 3

The gay caseworker Gustavo writes a letter to an imaginary Walter, telling him the many changes happened in that year in Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid). We find again Sofia and the little Jonathan in Africa: Sofia dreams hers cousin Giulia, dispersed in the Ngube river. The doctor asks her to come back to Giorgio to let him know his son and Sofia leaves to Italy.

Giorgio in the meantime is into pieces: he has drowned in the pain relievers the malaise for the lost son and Sofia gives him the coup de grace confessing to him that he and Giulia were actually brothers (but his don't make Giorgio and Sofia... cousins? Well, there is nothing more divine than fucking your cousin, as the saying goes). Apparently it matters little to Giorgio: plot twist, he's still in love with... Sandra Gusberti. Which in theory is dead. But which in practice is healed, in Sidney, and surprises everyone suddenly reappearing. The idyll to find her again however is ruined by the discovery that the evil Doctor Randelli has transformed Villa Orchidea (Villa Orchid) in a veritable clinic of the horrors. How to get it back to the ancient glories? In doubt, Sofia does like Pilate (Pontius Pilate - Original Latin name: Pontius Pilatus) and takes no interest in the situation, abandoning the little Jonathan to the cares of Giorgio and Sandra. Then she does as Baglioni and takes away hers presence, and returns to Africa.

Giorgio suddenly becomes blind, but decides to operate the same. How? Of course, using the eyes of the heart, to the rhythm of musical and locura (madness).

The best Italian drama ends here, and will be followed by a spin-off about the public medical malpractice entitled Medical Dimension. That we care nothing.

We fans of Boris still hope for a fourth season of Gli Occhi del Cuore (The Eyes of the Heart) that explains once and for all what has been the sort of the ring of the Count: I in the doubt keep a little of share package under the mattress.
